I saw this apartment a long time ago, but it sort of got lost in my little inspiration folder on my computer. Anyway I found it again, and I can’t help loving this home. It belongs to swedish fashion blogger/designer/it-girl/model Elin Kling, and her gorgeous boyfriend that also does something really cool like owning a publishing house and being a rockstar. So you could see how I would love for it to be completely superficial and un-inspirational. Well it’s not, it’s beautiful and the whole apartment just has a great personal touch.

So, enough with the scandinavians. I just got this email from french company Bartsch, and it just made me so happy. They are specialized in decorative painting for children’s rooms. I’m aware of the fact that I do not have children yet, but I keep this file on my computer with inspiring design for children, you know, for the future(no pressure Pierre!). I just think this is so pretty, and it’s so nice to see something fresh from the french!

I really think you can separate the scandinavian countries different design styles, it’s very similar, I know, but it’s really not all the same. Maybe swedish and norwegian design would be the closest to being the same, while finish design is a little colder. Very serene and beautiful, but colder and with harder edges. And very, very white.
Of course the white is the signature color of scandinavian design, we’re all big fans of the purity, but in Sweden and Norway we love to mix in our light woods and natural elements. Danish design sticks out the other way, and it is no secret it is my favorite. Danish design is filled with warmth and charm. They choose darker wood, more colors, but still manage to keep it simple. I think you just have to be born with it.
This home belongs to a danish interior designer, and is a perfect example.

I was trying to make an argument this morning why we should put a polished concrete floor in one of our apartments. Here it goes:
