I really think you can separate the scandinavian countries different design styles, it’s very similar, I know, but it’s really not all the same. Maybe swedish and norwegian design would be the closest to being the same, while finish design is a little colder. Very serene and beautiful, but colder and with harder edges. And very, very white.
Of course the white is the signature color of scandinavian design, we’re all big fans of the purity, but in Sweden and Norway we love to mix in our light woods and natural elements. Danish design sticks out the other way, and it is no secret it is my favorite. Danish design is filled with warmth and charm. They choose darker wood, more colors, but still manage to keep it simple. I think you just have to be born with it.
This home belongs to a danish interior designer, and is a perfect example.

Lovely inspiration!
There are subtle differencies in style in the scandinavian countries, to understand for me, I’d never been there. Thank you for your explanation. From Buenos Aires, Arg. , Julia C.

Just wondering if you can find out the source of their lovely ceramics collection?
The tumbler looks like an Anne Black but I loooove the other pieces too……
The chairs are designed by Arne Jacobsen and are called ‘Gryden’ in Danish. Sometimes they can be bought on Lauritz.com, but they are rare.
