a couple of questions

Something slightly off topic today. Since most of you who read this blog are American, I have a little question for you. I’m going to New York for two weeks in August, I’ve been before, but since I’m going with some friends this time we want to rent an apartment and not stay at a hotel. Any ideas? I just find all the sites I’ve found kind of overwhelming, so I thought, maybe you could help!

Do you know a great site? Do you know of an agency that rents out short term that isn’t ridiculously expensive? Do you know anyone that won’t be around in august that has at least two bedrooms? Or someone that wants to come to Paris and stay in my apartment? Seriously, anything would help. Thank you!

Give this site a try – airbnb.com. People list their spaces & you can list yours. There is section on safetly/address verification (definitely a good thing) I did a quick search for NYC in August & came up with a ton of results.

good luck & have a great time!

I never used it, but know people who did. You can also read other people’s review of the place. Prices varies…

Yes, airbnb.com is the way to go! I successfully found & rented a place in NYC using the site. Make sure to really read up on a host and what past guests have said about their stay so you can avoid the lemons out there!

Thanks guys. That’s exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. Unless of course someone wants to do an exchange, I just have to start digging through all of those websites…
