Axel, tell us a little bit about yourself!
My name is Axel Hermansson, I come from a small town in Sweden called Helsingborg. I am 24 years old and currently studying at Aarhus school of Architecture. I have always been interested in the creative field. In my younger years my main interest was music. From there it went from photographing to drawing and then designing. I am an aesthetician in the soul!
Why did you become a designer?
I think it came quite naturally. Both my grandmothers were artists, so I think it’s in my blood. I have always thought in shapes and colors, light and shadow. So it has just been like going from mind to hand.
What inspires you?
All type of design: nature and human, bad and brilliant, and of course Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Name some design you like.
“Lux table” by Penny Forlano, “Caravaggio” by Cecilie Manz, “pk 80″ by Poul Kjaerholm.
Name some you dislike.
I actually like things I dislike, because it inspires me to design.
And your favorite designers?
Poul Kjaerholm, Charles and Ray Eames and Konstantin Grcic.
Describe your apartment.
I just moved in, so at the moment it’s a mess, but I could describe it as a white canvas with new and old paint.
